MY STORY
My journey
Believe it or not, at the age of 13 I started working in sales. As my father, Mohamed El Hawary, was the manager of Global Village in Dubai, he trained me in his business. I worked as a salesperson, tour guide of the Egyptian Museum, photographer, till I was 18 when he made me work as his assistant. Thanks to him I learned how to get out of my comfort zone, deal with different kind of people, and just get whatever task I get done no matter how hard it was. At the age of 19, I, unfortunately, lost my dad but I used what he taught me to support my family financially. After 3 months I have a car accident and end up with third-degree burns on both hands and arms. Even though doctors told me that I would never be able to use my hands again, I was able to prove them wrong after two years in the hospital. In my two years of solitude in my hospital room, Books were my only entertainment. There was one specific book I kept re-reading so many times, that I would put the book down and imagine how I could transfer this book from words to visuals, sounds and interactive art and this is how I started as a Digital Storyteller.
